Emer Calthorpe is one of London’s most experienced violinists and teachers. Since returning to London from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra she has freelanced extensively with the major London orchestras, leading several chamber orchestras and working also in the film studios.
Graham Salter is one of Britain's most experienced and sought-after players. He has been Principal Oboe with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and played Cor Anglais with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and many other major orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London Philharmonic Orchestra and English National Opera.
Graham has broadcast frequently for the BBC and his Oboe Quartet has commissioned works by Richard Rodney Bennett.

Music Tutor and Piano Teacher
I am an experienced and well qualified music teacher, composer and pianist with 25 years experience of teaching from pre school to undergraduate level. I offer:
- private tutoring in A level and GCSE Music, Music Theory, Aural Practice and Musicianship and Piano in my well resourced music studio in Kentish Town.
- I can also offer online teaching if required.
- I teach individual and group classes in music theory.
As a tutor, my approach is similar to the way I have taught in different educational institutions. Having established what the student already knows I approach teaching with the emphasis on active learning and encouraging confidence in the student’s ability to learn and apply skills.
