I have extensive teaching experience, having worked as an Early Years specialist and strings tutor for the Tower Hamlets Music Service for a number of years, as well as having many private pupils from as young as 5 through to adults. I am involved in a variety of Community Arts projects and am currently Community Ambassador for the London Symphony Orchestra.

I have a varied and exciting freelance career as a cellist, performing regularly with classical ensembles, jazz groups and pop artists. I am a graduate of Bristol University and Trinity College of Music.

Belfast-born Jonathan Byers began playing the cello at the age of seven and later went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music. As cellist in the Badke Quartet he has performed at festivals in the UK and overseas, including the Aldeburgh and Verbier Festivals and venues such as the Wigmore Hall and Kings Place.

Jonathan has a busy freelance career performing as guest principal with many orchestras and period instrument groups. In May 2011, Jonathan was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, an honorary award for former students of the Academy who have made a notable contribution to the music profession

Penny Cliff ARCM, GRSM welcomes private adult pupils: beginners, restarters/improvers, intermediate or advanced levels, offering coaching for auditions, performances and ABRSM exams. Whatever your level :

Penny trained at the Royal College of Music before an orchestral career including ENO, BBC-CO, Teatro la Fenice Venice and extensive work as a chamber musician and accompanist. She teaches piano and cello at North Bridge House Senior School, Hampstead. Penny teaches at her home in Homerton E9 (overground station 3 minutes walk) but can discuss visits to North, East and Central London areas.

Samuel Ng

Samuel Ng is a London based cellist and viol player who has studied with Sarah McMahon, Reiko Ichise, Jonathan Rees, Raphael Wallfisch and Hélène Dautry. He has appeared at festivals such as the Vienna Philharmonic Ball and the BBC Proms, and his chamber career has brought him through most of Europe, both performing and broadcasting on radio. 
Both as a cellist and viol player, Samuel regularly works with ensembles such as The English Concert, Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort and Players, La Serenissima, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestra of the Sixteen, Irish Baroque Orchestra and The Hanover Band.
He currently teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department.

I am currently studying for a Masters in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, specialising on the Baroque cello. I am available to teach all ages the modern or Baroque cello, as well as sessions to help with practice or theory.

Josh Salter is a freelance cellist and teacher, intensely involved with Music education whilst maintaining a busy schedule of performances. He teaches cello at North Bridge House Prep School, for Camden Music Service and privately. He regularly delivers music workshops in mainstream and special needs schools and helped to establish the now thriving instrumental lessons programme at Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children. His own studies started with lessons on Hull Music Service, moving on to Chethams School, Royal Northern College of Music and finally Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Felix Schmidt and graduated with an MA with Distinction.

As a performer, he works with orchestras including Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, City of London Sinfonia, Hanover Band, English Festival Orchestra, Steinetz Bach Players, BBC Philharmonic, Liverpool Philharmonic and Hallé. Recent concert locations include Budapest, Beijing and Basingstoke. Chamber music performances include live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and major concert halls including Wigmore Hall
