All Gliga violins are handmade in Romania. Although we always try to keep them in stock in all sizes if an item is out of stock it can take up to 3-4 weeks before we receive delivery.
The Gliga Gama model is the first in Gligas "Professional" series, this means it has been made in a separate workshop to that of the student models and by more experienced Luthiers, it also benefits from a more delicate finish for the interior bracings and overall much lighter in weight than other models. It is the highest model we stock.
Made with a Maple back, sides and neck with and a spruce top, some very nice scroll work and a Gold slightly antiqued finish with all ebony fittings (fingerboard, tailpiece, endpin and pegs). Wood for these instruments comes from the same region where it is said that stradivarius himself attained his wood.
All our Gliga violins have the pegs re-shaped and the action adjusted by our in-house luthier before the go on sale to ensure ease of playing, fitted with Dominant Strings as Standard. If you would like a different brand then they can be swapped out for the additional cost.

Please note all our Gliga violins have the bridges replaced with the highest quality French Despiau, fitted and and sculpted by our resident luthier. This gives a far superior tone that better compliments the instrument which is reflected in the price.
